Welcome to Akkerboom Country Cottages

Akkerboom Country Cottages comprises six self catering cottages nestled along a stream between the Langeberg Mountains and the Little Karoo on a working fruit farm. The cottages offer an ideal family holiday venue two and a half hours from Cape Town. The farm lies 38km from Montagu at the top of the Op de Tradouw pass between Montagu and Barrydale on Route 62 and offers stunning views of the Langeberg.

Akkerboom or Oak Tree takes its name from the oak trees planted over 300 years ago by early settlers in the time before electricity. The Goedgeloof Stream with its source in the Langeberg Mountains meanders through the farm to Potjieskloof Dam downstream. A 30 km hiking trail and mountain bike route runs along the river on the original road through the farm, past a magnificent waterfall and along the original trekker route through the area.

Each cottage has en suite bedrooms in Cape cottage style with dakriet ceilings and tiled floors with private braai facilities. Cottages are screened by indigenous shrubs with stunning views down the Tradouw Valley and onto the orchards and mountains. Akkerboom Country Cottages provides an ideal base from which to explore the attractions of the Little Karoo or simply the opportunity to relax and enjoy the silence.
